In the second iteration of the exhibition series "Time," Kav 16 Gallery transforms into a dynamic workspace and experimental hub for artists Talia Elbo and Noa Zevadi. The root of their collaboration lies in their shared engagement with questions of representation, everyday materials, and the boundaries of the medium, alongside their use of humor in their creative practice.

The word Masking connects to actions of camouflage, concealment, and partitioning prevalent across our screens, as well as in military, political, and media contexts. Another conceptual sphere to which the term belongs is the theater—a realm where scenery, masks, and backdrops are designed to generate illusion while typically remaining in the background of the narrative and characters. The exhibition reverses these dynamics: the set design and mediating apparatuses shed their secondary role and take center stage as the primary focus.

Zevadi and Elbo maintain a mutual dialogue surrounding exposure, covering, and camouflage. While Zevadi utilizes screens, projection, and ready-made objects to raise political and gender-related questions about vulnerability and alienation in public space, Elbo uses urban scenery and the formal structure of the image to explore the materiality and rhetoric of the sculptural medium. Together, they invite viewers to strip away the mask from visual reality, gaze through the scenery, and linger over the layers, blockages, and mechanisms that construct our world.

Talia Elbo is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Tel Aviv. Her work spans sculpture, installation, print, and digital media, exploring the autonomy of the object and the rhetoric of material through operations of translation between image and matter, the digital and the physical, and language and space. Using 3D scans, paper, fabrics, sculptural structures, and copying processes, she examines how objects and images shift their status as they move across different systems of representation, and how the act of translation itself generates new meaning.

Elbo holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Tel Aviv (2026), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem (2024). She is the recipient of the Leah Cheshin Prize (2023) and participated in the Kikar Zion Artists Residency program in Jerusalem (2021). Her work has been showcased in group exhibitions, including Trace Splitting at the Ori Liphshitz Building (Tel Aviv), Point and Support at Minus 1 Gallery (Tel Aviv), and SOFA CAN FAST at Barbur Gallery (Jerusalem). Her works have been published in Rundgang Magazine, Export01 Magazine, and the Open Studio Events MFA publication edited by Smadar Sheffi, among others.

Noa Zevadi is an artist working across video, photography, print, and sculpture, integrating them into immersive installations. The street serves as both a material and conceptual source for her work: from it, she gathers objects, images, and fragments of discourse that reflect the social and political reality in which she lives and operates. These materials undergo processes of photography, printing, preservation, and re-installation—sometimes presented as found, treating them as existing sculptures and testimonies of public space, or serving as the foundation for video works.

Zevadi is also an educator and art teacher. Her pedagogical work is an integral component of her artistic practice, viewing teaching as a space for critical observation, encounter, and action within social reality. Zevadi studied art and education at Kibbutzim College from 2021 to 2025. During her studies, she was awarded two excellence scholarships: an Erasmus scholarship for student exchange in Germany and an anonymous scholarship funding her final graduation project. Her work has been exhibited in the duo exhibition Cross Over 5 at Einladen Gallery in Kassel, Germany (2024), as well as in group exhibitions including The Unraveling Side of the Moon at Maya Gallery / Makom le'Art (2022), Out in the Light at the Jaffa Lightboxes Gallery (2025), In Full Transparency at Mazeh 9 Gallery (2026), the Singer Festival of Jewish Culture in Poland (2022), and the Kalisher Community Center (2023).
